Warta Ekonomi, Jakarta -

Today, as we navigate an increasingly uncertain world, Indonesia stands tall — not just as Southeast Asia’s largest economy but as a country whose resilience and vision for shared prosperity shine ever brighter under the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto.

Over the past year, President Prabowo’s intensive schedule of bilateral and multilateral engagements — from close ASEAN partners to major global players — has sent a clear signal: Indonesia is ready to lead, to bridge divides, and to build solutions that benefit not only our 270 million citizens but also the wider region and the world.

A Robust Economic Base as Our Anchor

Indonesia’s projected GDP for 2024 reaches IDR 22,139 trillion, with growth holding steady above 5 percent. Despite global headwinds — from geopolitical tensions to climate challenges — our economy continues to expand, driven by strong domestic consumption, prudent fiscal policies, and a robust foundation of small and medium enterprises.

Looking ahead, the World Bank and other institutions forecast moderate but resilient growth in 2025 and 2026. For me, these numbers are more than statistics — they reflect the faith our people have in our leaders, and the confidence that the world’s investors place in Indonesia as a safe, vibrant, and promising market.

Food Sovereignty and Supply Chain Strength: Indonesia’s Gift to the World

One of the clearest signals of President Prabowo’s commitment to future generations is his strong focus on food resiliency. Indonesia is determined to ensure that every child can grow up nourished and healthy — and that no crisis, no matter how severe, can shake our nation’s ability to feed itself.

We are expanding our rice fields, revitalizing our corn estates, strengthening the domestic fertilizer industry, and investing in cold chains, ports, and village-based warehouses. This is not just about national pride — it is about ensuring that the global food supply remains stable when other parts of the world face droughts, wars, or trade disruptions.

Indonesia is ready to be a surplus supplier and a reliable partner. From rice and spices to halal and premium gourmet products, we are positioning ourselves to be a pillar of global food security. When the world’s supply chains are fragile, Indonesia stands firm as a source of stability and trust.

A Natural Leader for Southeast Asia

Leadership today is not merely about economic size or military strength — it is about trust. Through patient diplomacy and the President’s warm yet firm personal approach, Indonesia has reaffirmed its role as a consensus builder within ASEAN and a credible bridge between the Global North and Global South.

In a time when the world seeks new supply chain hubs beyond traditional routes, Indonesia offers a resilient alternative: strategically located, politically stable, and committed to sustainable development.

A Message to the World

I believe that under President Prabowo’s leadership, Indonesia’s message to the world is clear:

We are ready to lead responsibly.

We stand for food security, supply chain stability, and inclusive growth.

We invite our partners to grow with us, invest with us, and build a resilient future together.

As we continue this journey, let us strengthen collaboration between government, business, and communities. Let us transform our vast natural wealth and human capital into lasting prosperity. Let us prove that a middle-power country, rooted in local wisdom yet open to the world, can help shape a more stable and fair global order.

This is Indonesia’s time — and I am honored to be part of this chapter.
